Visiting this website

The site is a static website hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver pages and protect the service, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the requested page, time and browser information. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or embedded third-party content. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in delivering a secure website. Data may be processed in the United States; Cloudflare relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

E-mail

If you write to us, we use your address and message to answer you and keep them as long as the conversation needs, normally no longer than 12 months after it ends. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Authors and researchers we contact

When we review a published paper, we may contact its authors, or an independent researcher, about a specific calculation. We take names and work e-mail addresses only from the paper, arXiv or the person’s institutional page, use them only for that case, and delete them 12 months after the case closes. We do not publish your contact details or our private correspondence. If you do not want to be contacted again, tell us and we will add you to a do-not-contact list, which stores only a protected hash of your address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in accurate scientific records; see also Art. 89 GDPR.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
